Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our retreats are designed for adults (18+) at all stages of their wellness journey. Whether you are new to breathwork and embodied practices or an experienced practitioner, leader, or professional seeking deeper resilience and regulation, you are welcome here.

No prior experience is required. We intentionally offer a range of practices so each participant can engage at the level that feels right for their nervous system, experience, and readiness. Many participants report profound growth simply by witnessing and being present with others engaging in deeper work.

  • No experience is necessary. Our retreats are intentionally designed to support first-time participants while offering optional pathways for those who wish to explore more advanced or resilience-based practices.

All practices are invitations, not requirements. You are always encouraged to listen to your body and choose what feels supportive for you.

  • No. Pura Vida Collective retreats and sessions are not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or a substitute for therapy or medical care.

None of our facilitators are licensed therapists or physicians. We are trained coaches and certified practitioners in various wellness and holistic modalities. While our work is trauma-informed and science-based, we do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe.

We encourage participants to continue working with their healthcare or mental health providers as appropriate.

  • Yes. Our work is grounded in nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed principles.

We recognize that emotional material may arise as the body begins to release and reorganize. We provide:

    • Group and individual check-ins

    • Quiet integration time

    • Supportive facilitation

    • Education on safe processing within the body

Discomfort may arise at times — and this is part of growth. We emphasize regulation over retraumatization, guiding participants to process safely rather than remain stuck in patterns, thoughts, or emotional states.

    • Somatic practices and movement

    • Meditation and mindfulness

We ask all participants to complete a waiver up arrival and consult their physician if they have medical concerns.

  • We intentionally cap retreats at approximately 20 participants to ensure personalized support, safety, and integration for each attendee.
